Stop the Chase: Short Contribution
نویسندگان
چکیده
The chase procedure, an algorithm proposed 25+ years ago to fix constraint violations in database instances, has been successfully applied in a variety of contexts, such as query optimization and data exchange. Its practicability, however, is limited by the fact that – for an arbitrary set of constraints – it might not terminate; even worse, chase termination is an undecidable problem in general. In response, the database community has proposed sufficient restrictions on top of the constraints that guarantee chase termination on any database instance. In this paper, we propose a sufficient termination condition, called inductive restriction, which strictly generalizes previous conditions, but can be checked as efficiently.

Prediction of Driver’s Accelerating Behavior in the Stop and Go Maneuvers Using Genetic Algorithm-Artificial Neural Network Hybrid Intelligence
Research on vehicle longitudinal control with a stop and go system is presently one of the most important topics in the field of intelligent transportation systems. The purpose of stop and go systems is to assist drivers for repeatedly accelerate and stop their vehicles in traffic jams. This system can improve the driving comfort, safety and reduce the danger of collisions and fuel consumption....

متن کاملOptimizing the Chase: Scalable Data Integration under Constraints
We are interested in scalable data integration and data exchange under constraints/dependencies. In data exchange the problem is how to materialize a target database instance, satisfying the source-totarget and target dependencies, that provides the certain answers. In data integration, the problem is how to rewrite a query over the target schema into a query over the source schemas that provid...
متن کاملGeometrical and performance analysis of GMD and Chase decoding algorithms
The overall number of nearest neighbors in bounded distance decoding (BDD) algorithms is given by No;e = No + NBDD; where NBDD denotes the number of additional, noncodeword, neighbors that are generated during the (suboptimal) decoding process. We identify and enumerate the nearest neighbors associated with the original Generalized Minimum Distance (GMD) and Chase decoding algorithms. After car...
